Train operator controls have to fulfil the very highest safety requirements in very diverse environmental conditions. In our countries they have to withstand extreme cold and heat, in other countries there may be a tropical climate with extreme air humidity to challenge designers. The multifunctional terminals MMI touch by Deuta Werke are sealed into a housing made of cast aluminum to obtain protection class IP55. Integrated cooling fins guarantee sufficient dispersion of the heat produced by the processors and display. All connectors are sealed and have the same protection class. We designed the aluminum casing, engineered the sealed connections and provided 3D-CAD data for all housing components.
