Home control goes mobile – the accustomed look & feel remains the same …
The home automation system By-me of Vimar allows to control and manage homes locally with various wall-mounted touch-displays. The challenge was then to overcome the limits and allow complete and secure control of homes from any remote location with a web-application via internet. The vast range of comfort functions available locally had to be transferred into a responsive application which would provide the same accustomed look & feel – no matter from which mobile device the server was accessed. We attached highest priority to creating the same navigation structure the user is familiar with using his local devices. We intended to offer maximum orientation and intuitive interaction to the user with a fast learning curve. The interface behaves just like the ones used at home but providing now the freedom and the comfort to interact with the home from any location. The user quickly appreciates new convenient possibilities: The user now can activate/deactivate the alarm system, view the live stream of surveillance cameras, check if all lights are switched off, activate a welcome scenario just before arriving at home, open the gate without leaving the car, monitor energy consumption any time or check the voice box of the intercommunication system to name only a few convenient services.
